Cream Dory in Lemon Sauce


My lemon sauce recipe can also be used in other breaded items like chicken, pork cutlets or shrimps.   But cream dory is best paired with this sauce.  I have tried this dish in Pancake House and got an idea to make my own version.

Cream Dory in Lemon Sauce



Sliced cream dory fillet

1 cup flour

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup breadcrumb mixture (flour, breadcrumbs, salt & pepper)


For the Lemon Sauce:

Juice of 1 lemon

2 1/2 tbsp sugar

1/4 cup water

1 tsp corn cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp water

A drop of yellow food coloring



Make sure that the fish fillets are patted dry.  Dredge in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture.  Deep fry until golden brown.  Set aside.

For the sauce, combine sugar, lemon juice & water in a pan over low heat until sugar is dissolved.  Add cornstarch mixture.  Stir for about 2mins until it slightly thickens.  Add a drop of food coloring. Stir and taste.  Add more sugar if needed.  Pour over breaded cream dory fillets.
