Don’t know what to do with ground pork?  Here’s an easy dish.  My Mom makes two version, one with tomato sauce which I love and one without.  I made my own version recently and it was just as good.



1/2 kg. ground pork

1 carrot, diced

1 medium potato, peeled & diced

3 cups water

1/4 cup tomato sauce

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 red and/or green bell pepper, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, chopped

pepper to taste

cooking oil


1/4 cup raisins

1/4 cup green peas

4 pcs cocktail hotdog, sliced into strips



Cook the ground pork in about 2  cups of water until it changes to a light brown color.  Set aside.  In another pan, heat oil and saute garlic & onion.  Add ground pork, 1/2 cup of water and tomato sauce.  Stir and bring to a boil.  Season with soy sauce and pepper.  Stir until everything is combined.  Cover and let it simmer for 5 minutes.  Add in potatoes, carrots and bell peppers.  Stir, cover and simmer for a few more minutes until the sauce is reduced to half and the vegetables are tender.  Lastly, add the optional ingredients you want.  Serve with rice.
